Compared to the main foam firefighting vehicle, the rapid intervention vehicle has a relatively smaller capacity but is faster and more agile. Before the main foam vehicle arrives at the accident site, it reaches the scene first, initiating firefighting efforts to control the fire and prevent it from spreading.
The PT5360GXFKD AFRR truck is specifically designed for such scenarios, with performance that meets or exceeds the highest requirements of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for airport firefighting vehicles. It can carry approximately 12,000 liters of water and 1,500 liters of firefighting foam, with a water pump flow rate of 6,000 liters per minute and an electric remote-controlled water cannon range of up to 80 meters. The vehicle features a mid-mounted steering wheel layout, a width of over 3 meters, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just about 30 seconds when fully loaded, with a top speed of 115 km/h. It can even perform firefighting operations while chasing a taxiing aircraft.
Compared to ordinary fire trucks, ARFF vehicles have significant differences. First, ARFF vehicles require extremely high mobility and rapid response capabilities to reach the scene within the critical time frame of an aircraft accident.
